01. Intro
project story
House Demas, near Sarajevo, is situated in one of the most beautiful nature sites in Sarajevo.
The twist?
The project is a reconstruction of a war torn house, and the municipality mandated keeping the new house the same size as the old one . The owner, on the other hand, mandated a contemporary design with all the necessities for modern day living.
The result?
A dual natured house that looks like a blast from the past when viewed from the street with its old-school roof and brick facade. Spin around, and you’re in the yard and in the future – a modern vibe with a decking facade and an A-frame roof. It’s like keeping the charm for the neighbours but having a stylish surprise for the family inside.

02. Interior
it's the inside that counts
The inside of House Demas is all about catering to the needs of a modern family. We’ve divided the living and sleeping zones by floors. The living room? It’s got a double height – not just to let the sunshine flood in but also to connect the different floors visually. Bonus: It makes the inside look way more spacious.
As for colors. we’ve gone for a neutral palette, throwing in lots of light wood to keep things feeling fresh and airy. It’s a comfy, modern space that’s easy on the eyes.
